Payout Percentage Calculation
Earnings & Payouts
Your payout is based on the rental’s billing, minus the platform’s commission. A few things shape the final number:
- Commission — RNTLS applies a configured commission percentage. This rate is set by RNTLS Administration.
- Eligible days — Your payout is calculated from the actual eligible rental days consumed, plus any approved extension days — not just the originally booked length.
- Deductions — Any approved deductions are subtracted from your payout before it’s finalized, such as:
- Late drop-off penalties, if you dropped the vehicle off after the agreed time
- Approved damage, cleaning, fuel, or other incident-related charges, once RNTLS Administration has reviewed and authorized them
If your commission rate changes, it only applies to new rental requests going forward — it won’t be applied retroactively to rentals already in progress or completed.
When payouts are transferred
Once a rental reaches financial close — meaning the return inspection is complete and any pending fault/compensation decisions have been resolved — your payout for that rental becomes part of your payout schedule. Payouts are transferred to your connected Stripe payout method according to the payout schedule configured by RNTLS.
If a rental has an unresolved incident (for example, a security hold pending an Admin fault decision), that rental’s payout won’t be finalized until the decision is recorded — so keep an eye on any open reports if a payout seems delayed.
